![]() Cute little Lohri cake that I made for a Lohri party we attended for our friend's new baby boy! LOHRI: is a traditional seasonal festival in India celebrating winter's end and the returning prominence of the sun to the Northern Hemisphere. Among Hindus and Sikhs Lohri is a particularly special occasion for families who have had a baby during the previous year; families may celebrate with a feast and family members and friends often give gifts to the new child. Another old tradition is for children to go door to door singing for candy from the neighbors, not unlike Halloween. Throughout India Lohri today is widely celebrated at night with bonfires and dancing. People eat seasonal nuts and candies and also throw them into the fire. ![]() OK-so I LOVE making cake pops, but whoever said that they are easy was a LIAR!! This is a picture of the latest ones I made for a friend's daughter-having three boys, I was super excited to make something girly! Lots of props go to Bakerella who had step by step instructions on how to make these cuties |
About Me ...As a wife, stay at home mother of three, and former graphic designer, I felt the need for a new creative outlet that worked with my schedule. I found that outlet in cake design and decoration. You'll find a few samples or attempts at creative projects on this blog. I hope if they aren't attempted, they at least inspire you in some small way :) Archives
